Roma.

Ahhh, Rome. I absolutely loved Rome. SO COOL. So historical, so grand. It was pretty spectacular. The first day we arrive, we were on our way, visiting basically all major spots to see. We saw the Spanish steps, piazzas galore, the Pantheon, where Julius Caesar died, Michelangelo sculptures, the street that divides Imperial Rome with Ancient Rome. It was a whirlwind but so interesting. The road ends with the Colosseum. We also saw the oldest church in Rome, which was pretty unbelievable. The day ended with a walk to the Villa de Borghese gardens to watch the sunset. Probably one of the coolest sunsets I have ever seen, overlooking the Roman skyline. A beautiful first day.

The next day, it was Vatican Museum time. That was an entire trip in of itself because it is massive. It was pretty overwhelming most of the time but super impressive. I saw the famous painting of the Academy, which was awesome. And then the tour ended with the Sistine Chapel. Oh my. I couldn’t take it all in. So grand, so impressive, so everything I was expecting. I took pictures, totally against their rules. I guess the other group of us were and they asked them to stop and one silencer/enforcer even asked for a person’s camera so they could delete the pictures. It was that serious. And they silence everyone because it is a chapel, but it was still super interesting experience.

Every ceiling was decorated

Love this.

The Academy. I geeked out.

THERE IT IS.

I was sneaky with taking pictures

AHHHH.

After, we walked to St. Peter’s Square. Massive piazza. Unbelievable. We had a nice walk back, down little side streets and hidden piazzas. I loved times like that. That is why I loved Venice so much. The entire city is basically like that. You go down a little street and find yourself walking into this grand open space with all these people, just hanging out, eating, talking, being merry.

The next day, we had to work on our piazza project. The project is to choose a piazza, go to it and stay for a couple hours and take in all  in: the atmosphere, the people, the environment. It was such a cool project.

Our piazza: Piazza del Popolo

Every day, for lunch and dinner, I had either pizza or bruschetta so basically I was in heaven. With random gelato stops whenever we wanted, because we could, along the way. I love Italy.

The last night, after we had our tutorials, we took a night walk to the Colusseum.  Majestic, wonderful, awe-inspiring. Again, another out of body experience. So unbelievable. So spectacular. So cool.

I basically loved everything about Rome. Definitely going back. Florence is next!
